Marjorie M. Merrill

Marjorie M. (Lee) Merrill, age 96, of 1102 Market St., Bloomsburg, died early Sunday morning, June 27, 2021, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She had been a guest at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville, for the past six years.

Born in Mt. Pleasant Township, Columbia County on January 13, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Myron and Florence Adaline (Edwards) Lee. She resided in Bloomsburg much of her life and was a 1945 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Marjorie was active in various activities over the years including serving as the Welcome Wagon Hostess, sales clerk at the former Dixie shop, the former Magee Carpet Co. and was a poll worker at election time.

She attended Ridge Street United Methodist Church in Almedia. An avid card player, she also enjoyed playing board games, family gatherings and going on cruises with her husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn M. Merrill, on August 26. 2005; a brother J. Murel Lee and a sister Fae Cox.

Surviving are three sons: Robert G. Merrill and his wife Kimberly, Chester, Va., Gary L. Merrill, and his wife Diane, Leicester, N.C., Ernest W. Merrill, and his wife Sherry, Bloomsburg; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg., with Rev. Virginia C. Bailey, pastor of Ridge Street United Methodist Church, Almedia and Rev. Gordon E. Smith pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
