Mariann (Litterer) “Mer” Crone

Mariann (Litterer) “Mer” Crone,70, of Buckhorn Road, Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Born on June 13, 1955 in Millville, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Jane (Smith) Litterer. Mariann graduated from Millville Area High School in 1973 and remained a proud member of her hometown community throughout her life.

She enjoyed working at the Buckhorn Truck Stop, where fate introduced her to the love of her life, Joseph Crone. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership filled with love, friendship and devotion.

Mariann found her true calling as a teacher’s aide at Millville School. She brought a warm energy and bright smile to the classroom each day. Her compassion left a lasting impression on countless students and colleagues alike. She loved her job deeply and treasured every student she had the privilege to support.

Mariann also worked alongside her husband at Crone Metal Works until she retired in 2025.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her favorite title was “Nanny/Nana,Tata Head”, and she adored her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting presence of someone who truly cared.

Outside of work and family life, Mariann enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, shopping trips, playing games with friends, card games around the table with loved ones, and riding side- by -side vehicles out to the farm – simple pleasures that brought her great happiness.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her brother, Steven Galen Litterer, in-laws Robert and Margaret Crone, and nephew Michael J. Crone.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Joseph K. Crone, with whom she observed their 46th wedding anniversary on September 22, 2025; two daughters, Bryna wife of Benjamin Hock of Millville and Jessica Sember of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Logan Hock, Carter Hock and Kayleigh Sember; a brother John Litterer and his wife Cindy of Bloomsburg, as well as brother and sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
