Margaret M. Williams, age 95, 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, died on Monday July 11, 2022 at the Valley View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Montoursville, where she was a patient for several months.

Born in Locust Township, Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Novak. She resided in Williamsport since December 2013 and previously lived in Catawissa. She was a graduate of Catawissa High School and Empire Beauty School.

Margaret was a licensed beautician and worked in various beauty shops throughout her career. She was married to the late Kenneth D. Williams. He was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania for 35 years. Throughout their 68-year marriage, they maintained a home in Catawissa while living and working in Wilkes-Barre, West Pittston, Stroudsburg, and last at Bloomsburg and Catawissa.

They were longtime members of the First United Methodist Church, Catawissa.

Margaret’s activities included cooking, camping, square dancing, and gardening. She would often say that they were eating organic long before it became popular! She and Ken also hosted many family reunions at their Catawissa home and farmette.

Margaret was the last survivor of a generation of her family, being the final sibling of 16 to pass.

Margaret is survived by a son, Gregory P. Williams, and his wife Lynne, of Rapid City, South Dakota; a daughter, Monica R., wife of James J. Turri, Williamsport; 20 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held later this year.

Friends and family may remember Margaret with a contribution to the First United Methodist Church, 228 South Street, Catawissa, PA 17820.
