Linda J. Sorber

Laura J. Sorber, age 90, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday June 9, 2026 at Glen Brook Nursing & Rehabilitation in Berwick.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Cora Alice (McCormick) Halderman.

Laura was last employed as a clerk at Rosenblum’s in Sunbury. Prior to that, she was employed at JCPenney Co. for 15 years and Raub’s Shoe Store, both in Sunbury.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Laura was preceded in death by her two sisters, Betty Dollman and Midge Weaver.

Surviving is her son, Robert W. Sorber, of Gulf Shores, Alabama; daughter, Karen Sue, wife of Kevin Obrick, of Penns Creek; and three grandchildren: Tiffani Ann Waters, Julie Ann Sorber, and Jordyn Ann Sorber.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 25, 2026 at 10 a.m. in Creveling Cemetery, Espy, with Pastor George Zerbe, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
