Linda K. (Shuman) Brosius, age 72. 25 Middle Road, Catawissa, died at her home early Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She had been seriously ill for the past two and a half weeks.

Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on December 30, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Evelyn (Hess) Shuman. Her early life was spent in Mainville and she later resided at Wilburton No 1 for 25 years and  in the Numidia area for the past  24 years.

Linda was a 1962 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and later graduated from the former Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing in Ashland. She was employed as a Psychiatric Nurse at Danville State Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of the Wilburton United Methodist Church, where she served as a lay leader on the board of trustees.

Linda was an avid reader and collector of Barbie dolls and paperweights. Her cat is named Slick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Linda is survived by her husband, Timothy M. Brosius and together they observed their 50th wedding anniversary on April 7, 2017. Also surviving are a daughter, Melissa Hampton, an her fiance', Karl Schu, Numidia; a son, Keith T. Brosius, and his wife Paula, Elysburg; a grandson, Zachary Hampton, Numidia; a brother, Conrad Shuman, and his wife Patricia, Kennett Square; a sister, Margaret Pickin, Bloomsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Linda's requests, there will be no funeral services or viewing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
