Linda (Perry) Anderson, age 77, of Berwick (North Centre Twp.) passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2026 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born on April 27, 1949 in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Capt. James A. and Bessie (Jensen) Perry. She attended George Gray and Harlan Elementary Schools, followed by P.S. DuPont High School.
After graduating from the University of Delaware, she worked for the Delaware Nature Education Center, the PPL Montour Environmental Education Center, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Linda was an avid reader, a gardener, birdwatcher, and cook; and a long-time member of the Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne P. Anderson, who was a professor at Bloomsburg University.
Surviving is her long-time companion, Gordy C. Bitler, with whom she resided; son, Michael Dowd, and his wife Fiona; granddaughter, Róisín Dowd; all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and sister, Paula Perry, of Berwick.
Linda’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Nan’s Girls for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville, with Rev. Stephen Kindt, of Church of Nazarene in Quincy, Massachusetts, officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m.
