Lee A. Henninger, Sr., age 61, of 717 Church Street, Danville, died at his home at 9:37 a. m. Sunday, June 28, 2020 after an illness.
Born in Mahoning Township on May 21, 1959, he was a son of the late Richard A. and Mildred E. (Cashner) Henninger.
Lee was a lifelong resident of Danville and a 1977 graduate of Danville High School.
He was last employed as a groundskeeper by St. Cyril’s Academy and previously by Holy Family Convent, both of Danville. Earlier he was employed by the former Dorsey Trailer Co in Northumberland.
Lee cherished the time he spent with his three grandsons. His hobbies were metal detecting, fishing and his C-B radio. He was known for his joke telling and his ability to repair lawnmowers. He was a member of the Danville VFW, the continental Fire Co. and the Washington “Washies” Fire Co. all of Danville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Cathie Beebe and Margaret “Peg” Baylor.
Lee is survived by his wife, the former Therese Bialecki, with whom he observed their 41st wedding anniversary on March 12, 2020; a son Lee A. Henninger, Jr., and his wife Nichol, Bloomsburg, a daughter Alicia, wife of Rob Santore, Danville; three grandsons: Matthew Henninger, Brendan Santore and Collin Santore; a sister, Rhonda Fowler, and her companion Ken John, Lancaster; two brothers: Albert Henninger, and his wife Gail and Edward Foster and his companion Jennifer Shoop, all of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at a time and place to be announced at a future date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
