Lawrence Golomb, age 80, of Monroe Street, Berwick died early Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Edmund and Anna (Romanczak) Golomb. He resided in the Berwick area most of his life and as a 1960 graduate of Berwick High School.

Lawence was a life long farmer and at one time owned Golomb’s Green House on Bombay Lane. He retired in 2001.

He was a longtime member of Faith Bible Church, now known as Sovereign Bible Fellowship Church in Orange Township, where he was a deacon, Sunday School superintendent and teacher.

Lawrence loved the challenge of fixing things. He was always very intelligent and could solve problems easily. He enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles. For many years he had a large garden and enjoyed growing vegetables.

He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always with his wife and was quick to say she was the love of his life and best friend. He was always singing “Can’t help falling in love” by Elvis Presley to his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Golomb.

Surviving is his wife, the former Kay F. Michaloski, with whom he observed 60th wedding anniversary on January 12, 2023; a daughter, Catherine “Cathy”, wife of Chuck Weber, Port Charles, Florida; a son, Lawrence “Larry” Golomb and his wife Tamera of Visalia, Calif.; four granddaughters: Melody wife of Dylan Smith, Fort Worth, Texas, Mariah Golomb and her fiance’, Arron Heuen, Lewisburg, Gabrielle Golomb, Coal Township, Abigail Golomb, Raphine, Virginia; a great granddaughter, Raelyn Smith, a great grandson, Wesson Smith and a brother, Edmund T. Golomb and his wife Elizabeth of Berwick.

Private family services will be held at a future date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
