Larry W. "Butch" Mordan

Larry W. “Butch” Mordan, age 79, formerly of Mordan’s Lane, Danville, died early Monday February 5, 2024 at the Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Shenandoah.

Born in Danville on August 6, 1944, he was the son of Clayton and Hazle (Barnhart) Mordan. He attended the Danville public schools.

Butch was a truck driver and mechanic during his working years. He was last employed by Wise Foods, Inc. and was previously employed by the former Joe Delbo Trucking in Danville for over 30 years.

Butch enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on cars and motorcycles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley Dunkle, on April 29, 2016; five brothers, James Mordan, Robert Mordan, David Mordan, Arthur Mordan, and Ralph Mordan; and three sisters, Catherine Nungesser, Elsie Cragle, and Donna Shultz.

Surviving are three children, Larry W. Mordan, Jr., Iowa City, Iowa, Kelly, wife of Terry Hockenbough, of Tampa, Florida, and Richard Yost, and his wife Melissa, of Catawissa; a stepdaughter, Karen, wife of Sean Hendricks, of Riverside, nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice, wife of Vaughn Wintersteen, of Riverside; two brothers: Raymond Mordan, of Danville, and Charles “Char” Mordan, and his wife Shirley, of Pottstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
