Larry Arthur Robbins, 82, of West Creek Road, Benton, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Born on July 16, 1943 in Croyden, Bucks County, a son of the late Dhalas C., Sr. and Neva F. (Charles) Robbins.
In his youth, he fondly recalled winning class president over 800 students, allowing him the honor of sitting next to Eleanor Roosevelt during the dedication ceremony for the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Middle School. After his family moved to Benton, Larry graduated from Benton High School in 1963 and obtained a business degree in Wilkes Barre in 1965.
He married his soulmate, Mary Frances Gochenaur on September 19, 1964 in Benton. Together they had several businesses through the years: a butcher shop, a tax accounting business and rental business (including Hess Hotel). They also ran the Benton Garage Sale with Mary’s aunt for many years. Prior, he had managed Horace Harrison’s IGA Store in Benton, and he retired from Milco Industries in Bloomsburg.
Larry was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church and the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge 436.
He is survived by a daughter Debra S., wife of Thomas R. Little, Jr. of Benton; four grandchildren: Rebecca F. Robbins, Joshua R. Robbins, Seth T. Little, and Jacob R. Hittle; a brother, Dhalas R. Robbins, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Bloomsburg; two sisters: Theres B., wife of Vincent Carter of Littleton, Colorado and Melinda S. Robbins of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Linda Robbins of Stillwater and two beloved felines: Billy and Susie.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary, on July 8,2022; a daughter, Shirley A. Hittle, on May 29,2020; a granddaughter, Jessica L. Hittle on May 3, 1998; and a brother Franklin Robbins.
A special thanks to friends/caregivers, Julie and Donny, as well as the staff of Compassus Hospice.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11 a. m. in the Benton Cemetery with Pastor Jason Simpkins of the Stillwater Christian Church officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home &Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
