Larry Lee Levan, age 83, of Bloomsburg (Espy), passed away on Thursday July 23, 2026 at his home while under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Born on June 17, 1943 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Leroy and Betty (Walters) Levan. He spent his lifetime in the Bloomsburg area.
Larry was employed by Dillon’s Greenhouse, where he was known for the beautiful carnations that he grew. He also co-owned Residential Maid Service By Letha with his wife. Earlier in his life, he was employed by Catawissa Lumber Co.
He enjoyed playing cards, having card parties, and attending yard sales. He also enjoyed calling Bingo for various organizations. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Earlier in his life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Letha F. (Winn) Levan, on May 22, 2026; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Macy Majka; and four siblings: Janet Snyder, Rose Winn, Linda Royer, and Jay Levan.
Surviving is his daughter, Tammie wife of Daren Brophy of Catawissa, son Terry A. Levan and his wife Sandy of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: Christopher Levan, Andrea wife of Jason Correll, Christine wife of Ron Majka, Nathan Brophy and his wife Emily and Katie Titman; ten great grandchildren: Brysin, Rhyleigh, McKenna, Ace, Maddy, Eli, Eden, Ronnie, Jason Jr., and Brody.
Also surviving are seven siblings: Joyce Girton, of Orangeville, Ray Levan, and his wife Kaye, of Riverside, Ruthann Buxton, of Catawissa, Bonnie, wife of Allen Helwig, of Catawissa, Carlene Foust, and her companion Bob Winn, of Catawissa, Cathy Miller, of Bloomsburg, and Dean Levan, of Mt. Pleasant Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor Kevin Brophy, of the Newburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, 575 Montour Blvd. Suite 1, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
