Larry S. Evert

Larry S. Evert, age 74, 22  Schoolhouse Road, Catawissa, died at 11:35 p. m. Saturday, October 8, 2016  in the emergency room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.

Born in Bloomsburg on July 1, 1942, he was a son of the late Leon and Helen (Blass) Evert. He lived in Catawissa most of his lifetime and was a 1960 graduate of Southern Area High School.

Larry was last employed by Flick Brothers Electric, Bloomsburg as an appliance repairman retiring in 2004 and earlier worked for Deihl's Appliances, Danville for over thirty years.

He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War, spending time in Alaska and Germany. He was a life member of the Catawissa Post 8304, Veteran's of Foreign Wars.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, the former Katherine McDonald, on April 3, 1989; by three brothers: Doyle Evert, Jerry Evert and Charles Evert; and by a sister, Sharon Bauman.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Patti, wife of Joshua Taylor, who resided with him and three grandchildren: Kaitlyn Taylor, Douglas Taylor and Hannah Taylor, who also lived with him.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the the family. There will be no viewing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
