Lanny L. Eifert

Lanny L. Eifert, age 70, of 84 Whites Church Road, Bloomsburg, died at 4:42 p. m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at the Geisinger Medical Center , Danville, where he had been a patient since Sept. 2, 2019.

Born on December 24, 1948 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Elmer C. "Punk" and Geraldine E. (Hower) Eifert. He resided in Mount Pleasant Township all of his life.

Lanny  was employed at  the former Dana,  Corp., plant in Berwick for 26 years and retired on disability in 1991.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for two years.

Lanny enjoyed farming and watching things grow. He was a loving and supporting father who loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  a brother, Carl E. "Abe" Eifert on Dec. 12, 2008.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ina E. Anderson, with whom he observed their 38th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2019; four children: Nadine L. Eifert, Bloomsburg;  Lanny L. Eifert, at home;  Seth E. Eifert, and his fiance' Kimberly Robinson, Bloomsburg; Jackie, wife of Brian Watkins, Palm;  and eight grandchildren.  He was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Jennifer Parks-Snyder , pastor of Lightstreet United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Ikeler's Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township. Viewing will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
