Kenneth D. Williams, age 90, 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, died at 5:25 p. m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Valley View Nursing Center in Montoursville, where he was a patient for two weeks.

Born in Roaring Creek Township, Columbia County, he was a son of the late Harold and Myrtle Williams. He resided in Williamsport since December, 2013 and previously lived in Catawissa. He was a 1945 graduate of Catawissa High School.

Ken was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co.  of Pennsylvania for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Throughout his career with Bell, he maintained a home in Catawissa, while living and working in Wilkes-Barre, West Pittston, Stroudsburg and last at Bloomsburg.

He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Catawissa.

Ken served with the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, Danville.

His activities included hunting, camping, square dancing,  carpentry and doing stone masonry.

Ken is survived by his wife, the former Margaret M. Novak, with whom he celebrated 68 years of marriage in November, 2016; a son, Gregory P. Williams, and his wife Lynne, Rapid City, South Dakota; a daughter, Monica R., wife of James J. Turri, Nisbet (Williamsport); 20 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Margaret Deeter, Catawissa and Edna Derrick, Greensboro, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Williams in 1944 and by two sisters: Ruth Malefyt and Doris Warn Emick.

Private funeral services will be held in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Susan O. Rogutski officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, with military honors by the Catawissa area veterans group. There will be no viewing.
