Kenneth J. Brown

Kenneth J. Brown, age 79, of 3631 Second Street, Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully at his home at 5:56 a. m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 after an illness.

Born in Hemlock Township on August 25, 1941, he was one of 14 children born to the late Harry H. and Cora L. (Gower) Brown. He resided in the Bloomsburg area his entire life.

Kenny was a self- employed contractor for many years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed wood working, hunting and following his retirement traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: John Brown, Wilbur Brown, Stanley Brown, Howard Brown, Paul Brown, Fred Brown and David Brown; by six sisters: Grace Miller, Mary Winn, Violet Auchter, Ruth Featherman, Charlotte Welliver and Betty J. Brown.

Kenny is survived by his wife, the former Joann Levan, and together they observed their 51st wedding anniversary on Sept, 4, 2020, a  son, Eugene “Butch” Brown and his wife Linda, and a daughter Teresa A., wife of Jimmie Lee Deitterick, all of Bloomsburg; four grandchildren: Melissa, wife of Roy Ruckle, Jr., Orangeville, Andrew Brown, South Williamsport, James Deitterick, and his wife Meghan, Bloomsburg, Michael Deitterick, and his wife Alissa, Bloomsburg; six great-grandchildren: Timothy Ruckle, McKenna Ruckle, Emily Ruckle, Lilly Deitterick, Abigail Deitterick and Jasmine Deitterick; and one great-great-grandson, Jaxson Ruckle. There are also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. George A. Zerbe, pastor of the Emanuel Dutch Hill Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow in Dutch Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a. m.
