Kathryn B. (Shetterly) Mensch

Kathryn B. (Shetterly) Mensch, 88, of Boone Road, Bloomsburg passed away peacefully at Glenbrook Nursing and Rehab Center in Berwick on Saturday evening, March 7, 2026.

Born in Liverpool, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Reichenbach) Shetterly. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1947 and was a 1955 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Kathryn was employed by Krum’s Orchard in Catawissa for over 20 years where she specialized in making gift baskets.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg where she assisted in the Church kitchen. An avid quilter she also was a member of the quilters group at the Church. She will also be remembered for the many birthday and wedding cakes which she made. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening at her home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Mensch on May 8, 2014 after 47 years of marriage; a brother Belwood Shetterly and a sister Shirley Cecco.

Kathryn is survived by two sons: Michael A. Mensch and his girl friend Kathy Snyder of Bloomsburg and Keith L. Mensch and his girl friend Andrea Nead of Bloomsburg; two sisters: Fern wife of Joseph Cecco of Elysburg and Linda wife of David Becker of Watsontown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11 a. m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Pamela Meilands, interim pastor of the Church officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. A viewing will be held in the Church parlor from 10-11. M.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
