Kary Lee Strouse

Kary L. Strouse, age 74, 135 Fisher Court Danville, died at 8:15 a. m. Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the Smith Health Care in Mountaintop where he was a patient for four days.

Born in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County on May 22, 1947, he was a son of the late Leon and Phyllis (Kirkpatrick) Strouse. He was a Danville resident since 1953.

Kary was employed as a detailer by Jack Metzer Auto Group in Danville for 24 years, retiring in 2013.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed taking a daily drive around Danville and attending the Farmers Market. He looked forward to his weekly visits from the visiting nurse.

Kary was proud to have served his country as a member of the U. S. Army and serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Danville Post 298, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy S. Lanbing, on March 17, 2019, ending a marriage of 46 years, by a sister Linda Snyder and a brother Leon Strouse, Jr.

Kary is survived by two brothers: Dennis Strouse and his wife Debra, Danville; Randy Strouse and his wife Joanne of Riverside; two sisters: Cynthia, wife of Dennis Klock of Kulpmont; Sharon, wife of Jeffrey Salvatore, Watsontown and a number of nieces and nephews.

He requested that there be no funeral services. Interment will be in the Columbarium at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
