Joseph B. LeVan, age 82, of Monroe Ave., Bloomsburg (Lightstreet), passed away early Sunday June 15, 2025 at his home.
Born on September 7, 1942 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late John L. and Lois A. (Fedder) LeVan. He was a 1960 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and was a resident of the Buckhorn area for most of his life.
Joseph worked as an electrician for the Howard Corporation and last at the Bloomsburg Fair before retiring in 2022.
He proudly served his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Joseph was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273 American Legion and the VFW Post 804 in Bloomsburg.
Joseph was an avid Penn State football fan. He thoroughly enjoyed shooting pool and being in a pool league.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Sessions.
Surviving are his two children, Joseph Swisher, and his wife Brenda, of Bloomsburg, and Julie Swisher, and her wife Geneva Starr, of Montandon; three grandchildren: Lacey Swisher, of Bloomsburg, Jordan Swisher, and his wife Hope, of Danville, and Damian Swisher, of Bloomsburg; a great-grandson, Ethan Brown; and five siblings: Lana, wife of John Hanaway, of Danville, Pam, wife of Bob Farley, of Mifflinville, Dennis LeVan, and his wife Maxine, of Bloomsburg, Steve LeVan, of Berwick, and LaRue LeVan, of Berwick.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 19, 2025 at 2 p.m. in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, with Rev. Gordon Smith, of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Military honors will be performed by the U.S. Air Force and the combined American Legion and VFW honor guard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
