Jose Enrique Parrilla

Jose Enrique Parrilla, age 84, of Berwick, passed away on Monday August 18, 2025 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on September 3, 1940 in Juncos, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Marcelo Velasquez Parrilla and Ventura Feliciano. He was a graduate of Samuel Gompers High School in Bronx, NY.

Jose was a pattern maker for Happy Togs in New York.

He was an avid golfer. He played at Arnold’s Golf Course and won several senior tournaments.

Jose was preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Parrilla Dorsey. 

Surviving are his four children: Jose Ernesto Parrilla, wife Ana Cecilia, of Carmel, NY, Leslie Parrilla, of Berwick, Carlos Parrilla, and his wife Jill, of Martinsburg, and Alysha Parrilla, of Lewistown; son-in-law, Thomas Dorsey, of Lansdowne; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Jose Roig, of Gainesville, FL, Rosa Inez Perez, Maria Antonia Arzuaga, and Migdalia Velesquez DeJesus, all of Puerto Rico.

Memorial services will be held at his home away from home, Arnold’s Golf Course, 490 W. 3rd St. B, Nescopeck, PA 18635 on Sunday, September 14. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
