John A. Pelley, Jr., age 91, of Old Berwick Rd., Bloomsburg (Almedia), passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at his home under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Born on February 4, 1934 in Hazleton, he was the son of John A. and Helen (Bolinsky) Pelley. He was a graduate of the former Beaver Township High School. John grew up in Beaver Valley and resided in Bloomsburg since 1965.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from October 4, 1956 to October 3, 1958.
John was an X-ray Technician and Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the former Berwick Hospital for many years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.
An avid hunter, John was a life member of the Tip Top Hunting Club. He also enjoyed gardening, beach vacations, and going on vacations with family.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Stabley in 2019.
Surviving is his wife, the former Cynthia E. Hobbs, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 8, 2025; three daughters, Laura Pelley, Eileen T. McMichael, and Cynthia Krupilis, all of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene, wife of Kerry Fisher, of Bloomsburg.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
