I always considered John my best archery friend. We competed at archery tournaments for many years shooting in the same classification and always asking at registration time to be put in the same shooting group. He had a phenomenal memory from which he would recall story after story including scores I shot and even the brand of bow I was using at the time. I always smile when I think of how he would kick dirt, a stone or stump right after he shot an errant arrow. Wish I had a video of those moments. We winter in Florida from January to May each year now, but we always tried to see John before heading south. This past year, we went to Bloomsburg three times for breakfast with John the last being Dec 30th. Our December meeting showed things were not good with his health. My last email to/from him was Feb 19th and he had his usual good sense of humor. Even though my wife and I knew this day was coming, it is not any easier to handle. At least now he is not suffering. Our condolences to his family. He was a kind and good human being. Rest in peace old friend.

Heaven has gained another special person. John was the best brother-in-law anyone could ask for. He was genuine, kind, and thoughtful of others. He was a hard worker and cared about his family. His sense of humor was unmatched. We have many fond memories of our time spent together. Whenever his name is mentioned a smile is soon to be made. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. John will be missed but never forgotten.
