John C. Lutz

John C. Lutz, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Bloomsburg on Friday, July 4, 2025. Born on October 7, 1931, he was the son of the late John Lutz Sr., and Catherine Lutz. A proud military veteran, John served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1953, including a war time tour of duty in Korea.

Upon returning from his military service, he became an independent painting contractor in Reading and then moved to Bloomsburg in 1969. He met and married his wife of 53 years in 1970, the former Shirley M. Carl, who continues to reside in their Bloomsburg home. 

In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by; his son, Bryan Pooley of Middleburg, his daughter, Barbara Lutz of York, his granddaughter, Kahla Lutz of Muncy and a sister, Susan Blessing of Temple. John was a supportive and loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as an avid pet lover/owner. He will be sadly missed.
