JoAnn F. Edwards

JoAnn F. Edwards, age 85, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 10:30 a. m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she had been a patient.

Born in Bloomsburg on Dec. 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Reber E. Fornwald and the late Stella (Pinterich) Fornwald Keller. Her early life was spent in Bloomsburg and she was a 1949 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. Following high school, she enrolled at the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College, graduating in 1953.

JoAnn was a mathematics teacher at the Governor Mifflin High School, Shillington, Berks County, retiring in 1979. Following retirement, she moved to Cape May, New Jersey, where she resided until returning to Bloomsburg in 2011.

She is survived by a son, David C. Edwards, and his companion Cynthia Miller, Bloomsburg; a daughter, Robin, wife of Kevin Reichart, Reading; a granddaughter, Amy Reichart, Reading; a grandson Austin Edwards, St. Cloud, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Reichart. She was the last of her immediate family.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence, pastor of St. Columba Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be made in New Rosemont Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
