Joan S. Dalton

Joan S. Dalton, age 83, of W. Third St., Bloomsburg and formerly of Stillwater, passed away on Thursday January 29, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on June 11, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Zygmund S. and Sophie Derkowski. She resided in Bloomsburg for the past five years and had previously resided in Stillwater.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton.

Surviving are her four children: Gregory A. Dalton, and his wife Moira, of Bloomsburg, Doreen, wife of Ed Krushinski, of Nanticoke, Mark Place, and his wife Audra, of Bassett, Virginia, and James Dalton, and his wife Dawn, of Berwick; four grandchildren: John Blackburn, Erin Yaple, Gunnor Place, and Breanna Dalton; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Ken Derkowski, and his wife Helen, of Toms River, New Jersey.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
