Jill E. (Shutt) Dent, age 58, of 220 Toby Run Road, Danville died Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville of Covid-19.

Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on August 8, 1963, she was a daughter of Wealthy E. (Morrow) Shutt of Danville and the late Raymond F. Shutt, Jr. She was a lifelong resident of the Danville area and a 1981 graduate of Danville High School.

Jill was employed at the Danville Giant Food Store in the deli for over 20 years.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Danville. She loved riding her horses on the family farm and going on vacations at the beach and the Poconos. Jill loved cooking for her family and spoiling her furry girls (Birdie and Bedtee) and her mother’s dog, Cody.

Jill was a member of the Union County Sportsman’s Club; the Southside Fire Company, Washington “Washies” Fire Co., Continental Fire Co., Danville Moose, Danville VFW and American Legion Post 40.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband, David E. "Butch" Dent, with whom she observed their 31st wedding anniversary on June 30, 2021; a step daughter, Julie Dent of Danville; a brother, Raymond F. Shutt, III of Danville; a sister, Gayle, wife of Ray Weatherill of Danville; three nieces: Alicia, wife of Shane Neidig, White Deer, Libby Weatherill and Abby Weatherill, both of Nanticoke; a great niece, Alexus Moore of Danville and her favorite uncle, Samuel C. “Sam” Morrow of Danville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In Jill’s memory, just be kind and count your blessings.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
