Jean M. Gregory

Jean M. Gregory, age 91, of Danville and formerly of Lancaster County, passed away on Saturday February 24, 2024 at Maria Joseph Manor, where she had resided.

Born on December 31, 1932 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Marie E. (Hagenbuch) Smith. After her husband retired, they moved to Ronks, Lancaster County, residing there for 25 years before settling in Danville in 2019.

Jean was previously employed as a clerk by the former Woolworth in Bloomsburg. She was later employed as a coronary care nurse at Tri-County Hospital in Springfield for 5 years.

She loved family vacations to the shore, visiting on the porch with her neighbor, and communicating on her computer. She also enjoyed counted cross-stitch and reading.  

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Frank L. Gregory, on December 27, 2023; and by a son, John Mitchell Gregory on May 27, 1995.

Surviving are four children, Malinda, wife of Dominic DiBella, of Strasburg, Leonard Gregory, and his wife Joanne, of Glenside, and Steven Gregory, and his wife Brenda, of Tampa, and Todd Gregory, of Holyoke, MA; two granddaughters, Danielle DiBella, of New Zealand, and Nicole DiBella, of Elkhart, IN; and a sister, Jacqueline Willis, of Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Eileen Chapman, officiating. Interment will follow in Creveling Cemetery, Almedia. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m.
