Janet Lynn (Eli) Reedy, age 61, of 114 Hawk Ridge Road, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Born in Hazleton, PA, on May 16, 1965, Janet was the daughter of Irene (Smith) Eli, of Weatherly, and the late Kenneth Eli .
She was the valedictorian of Weatherly Area High School's 1983 graduating class. While in high school, she was a member of the concert band and a drum major for the school's marching band.
As a teenager, she was a competitive swimmer with Hazleton's YWCA and a lifeguard at Weatherly's Eurana Park.
Janet received a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical chemistry from Bloomsburg University in 1987 after completing a one-year internship at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She continued as a Geisinger employee, first as a chemist and later as a manager of the hospital system's information technology projects.
Preceding Janet in death were her father; her husband Ralph E. Reedy, Jr., who she married at Niagara Falls on September 11, 1999; and an infant son, Evan Lewis Reedy.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Tate Eli Reedy and Mitchell Thomas Reedy, both at home; brothers David Eli of Weatherly and James Eli of Libby, Montana; mother and father-in-law, Sue and Ralph Reedy, Sr., of Bloomsburg.
Most importantly, Janet was a mother who loved and cared for her two sons,
Tate and Mitchell. She was also her dogs' (Neko and Rocco) favorite human.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. R. Christian Dunlap, of Roaring Creek Bible Church, Numidia, officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m.
