Janet M. Maxwell

Janet M. Maxwell, age 86, of Berwick, passed away on Saturday August 30, 2025 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation & Nursing in Berwick.

Born on January 15, 1939 in Rosemont, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Florida (Maze) Mayle. She resided in Berwick since 2007 and previously resided in Catawissa.

Janet loved baking and cooking, walking, doing crossword puzzles, and coloring. She also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Irwin, on June 16, 2025 and six siblings.

Surviving are her son, Joel Maxwell, of Catawissa; two grandchildren, Brittany, wife of James Karchner, of Berwick, and David Irwin, Jr., and his companion Kim Cogswell, of Bloomsburg; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Mayle, and his wife Hilda, of San Diego; and son-in-law, David Irwin, Sr., of Berwick.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
