James G. Eichelberger

James G. Eichelberger, age 82, of 116 Starview Drive, Berwick, died  at his home at 4:26 a. m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, after an illness.

Born in Allentown on Dec. 31, 1937, he was a son of the late George and Stella (Fry) Eichelberger. He resided in Columbia County since 1989 and formerly lived in Lehigh County.

Jim was last employed at a synagogue in Allentown as a maintenance worker, working there for eight years before retiring. Earlier he was employed by Reichard's Chemicals in Allentown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Howells, in 1973;  a son Eric Eichelberger, a daughter Elaine Schafer and a granddaughter Melissa Eichelberger.

Jim is survived by his companion, Linda L. Garrison, who resided with him; three sons:  James J. Eichelberger, and his wife Linda, Eagle River, Alaska;  Jeffrey Eichelberger, and his wife Nancy, Dover, Del.; Timothy Eichelberger, LaGrange, Ken.; a son-in-law, Arlan Schafer, Copley; and seven grandchildren. He was last of his immediate family.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Egypt Cemetery, Egypt, Lehigh County.
