Jacob H. Swisher

Jacob H. Swisher, age 91, of W. Sixth Street, Bloomsburg died peacefully at the Grandview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Danville on Thursday evening, August 13, 2026.

Born in Bloomsburg on July 23, 1935 , he was a son of the late Jacob O. and Laura (Shelhamer) Swisher. He resided in the Bloomsburg area his entire life.

Jacob enjoyed hunting and trap shooting as well as loading his own shells.

Her is survived by hie wife, the former Barbara A. Pursel, and together they observed their 65th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2026; two sons: Douglas L. Swisher and his wife Heather of Topshan, Maine and Bradley A. Swisher of Drums; two grandchildren: Jared Swisher of Dallas, Texas and Natalie Swisher of Boston, Massachusetts; a sister, Janice Perrett of Catonsville, Maryland and a brother Gerald Swisher of Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2 P. M. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg with the Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, retired Lutheran minister officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p. m.
