Irene R. Robbins

Irene R. (Harvey) Robbins, age 100, 355 Tenny St., Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly  at her home early Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Born in South Centre Township on July 3, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Boyd R. and Lena P. (Evans) Harvey.   She resided in Bloomsburg for the past 10 years and previously lived in Rohrsburg for many years.

Irene worked at various jobs during her lifetime, but being a home maker was her most important. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing Buncko with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed talking to her friends and family members on the telephone.

She was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Millville.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Foster P. Robbins on August 18, 1988 and by two brothers: Lester Harvey and Amos Harvey.

Irene is survived by a daughter, Ruby Liddick, Carlisle; a son, Paul E. Robbins, and his wife Lisa K., Orangeville (Rohrsburg);  three  grandchildren: Sherri A., wife of Mitchell Longenberger, Bloomsburg; Scott Liddick, and his wife Kelly, Carlisle; Reagan Buckwalter, Orangeville; four great-grandchildren: Colt Longenberger, Trent Longenberger, Morgan Liddick, Rowan Liddick; three sisters: Helen Boudman, Orangeville; Mae, wife of Arthur  Sweeney, Millville; Evelyn Carr, Fernville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for the cards and memories shared  or for attending her birthday party last week.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1314 State Route 254, Millville, with interim Pastor Daniel Potter officiating. Interment will follow in Rohrsburg Cemetery. Viewing at the Church from 10 - 11 a. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Emmanuel Baptist Church at the above address.
