Howard H. Young

Howard H. Young, age 90, of Danville, passed away at 12:31 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Emmanuel Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Danville.

Born on December 4, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant twp., Columbia County, he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Mary (Peterman) Young. Howard resided in the Danville area for most of his life.

He was a self-employed painting contractor.

Howard was a member of St. Paul’s “Straubs” Lutheran Church, Frosty Valley. He enjoyed buying and improving houses for resale.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Phyllis Berl Boyer, on October 8, 2006 and nine siblings.

Howard is survived by a daughter, Patricia A., wife of Barry L. Wagner, Lancaster; four sons: Harry W. Young, and his wife Jacqueline, Catawissa, Marvin H. Young, and his wife Karen, Bluffton, SC, Lee A. Young, Bloomsburg, Neil D. Young, and his wife Mary Ann, Seaford, DE; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Ann Pfleegor, Danville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m.
