He passed his CDL test and became a truck driver. He worked for his father driving, maintaining, and painting trucks and cars. Later he worked for various trucking companies, ending his career by working for Riverview Block, Salem Township for 40 years. He loved driving trucks and didn’t retire until he turned 80 in 2019.

Herb also enjoyed fishing in Canada with his buddies, painting and repairing cars, camping, and working with his hands. He was always willing to gather firewood, no matter what the weather. He enjoyed gardening and had several farm animals throughout his life. He made a big impact in many peoples lives, helping them with projects.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, David Brown.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith (Switzer) Brown; five children: Deborah, wife of Stephen Midkiff, Michael Brown, Mark Brown, Matthew Brown, and his wife Barbara, Mitchell Brown, and his companion Tracy Casselberry, all of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Tatianna Englerth, Ethan Brown, and Victoria Casselberry; three step-grandchildren: Sheila Bellum, Brian Fox, and Craig Fox; and seven step great-grandchildren: Brandi, Chase, Chandler, Hannah, Cheyenne, McKenzie, and Camryn; and a half-brother: Donald Brown, of Mifflintown.
