Helen M. Fritz, age 80, 444 Klinger Hill Road, Benton, died at 12:10 p. m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Emmanuel Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation, Danville, where she was a patient since December 19, 2016.
Born in Danville on December 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Grace (Faust) Morehart. She moved to Benton at an early age and was a 1954 graduate of Benton High School. She resided in Bloomsburg for 40 years, returning to Benton in 1999.
Helen was a beautician for a number of years and later became a realtor working with her husband in operating Fritz Real Estate, Bloomsburg for many years.
A member of Christ United Methodist Church in Central, she also belonged to Ft. McClure Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); the Miquon Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists (DAC); and the Red Hat Society. Her hobby was doing genealogical work for her friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore H. "Ted" Fritz on July 9, 2009; by a son, Theodore A. "Teddy" Fritz on January 21, 2006; and by a brother, Daniel Morehart.
Surviving are a son, Dennis D. Fritz, and his wife Patricia, Berwick; a daughter, Teresa D., wife of James B. Hawk, New Tripoli; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Nicaise, Berwick; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, 750 Central Road, Benton, with her pastor, Rev. Howard W. Leh officiating. Interment in the Waller Cemetery, Jackson Township.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton. Ft. McClure Chapter DAR will hold services at 7:30 p. m.
