Harry H Lewis

Harry H. Lewis, age 78, of 456 W. Library Avenue, Danville, died at 11:25 a. m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital where he was a patient.

Born at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on February 5, 1942, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Elvira M. (Dawson) Lewis. He was a lifelong resident of the Danville area and attended Danville High School.

Harry was self employed for much of his life as a general contractor doing business as Harry H. Lewis Construction.

He was a member of the Friendship Fire Co., East End Fire Co., and a life member of the Continental Fire Co. He also belonged to American Legion Post 40 and the Danville Moose Lodge 1133.

Harry was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards, He was a member of the 4th Gap Cabin Hunting Club. He was a strong supporter of Fast Pitch Baseball in the Danville area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Richard Lewis, Walter “Bud” Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and a sister Ethel Edwards.

Harry is survived by his loving wife Carol L. (McCormick) Lewis with whom he observed their 40th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2020; a daughter, Denice, wife of Douglas Hess, Millville; a son Brian Frantz, and his fiance’ Brenda Albertson, Danville; four other children: Todd, Jeff, Tina and Kaybeth; four grandchildren: Nadeane Fry, Derek Fry, Brianna Frantz, Nickolas Frantz; two great-grandchildren: Loralei and Lyncoln; six siblings: Edward Lewis, Sunbury, Charles Lewis and his wife Helen, Danville, Vickie, wife of Glenn Eberhart, Winfield, Mary Eichenlaub, Danville, Jerry Lewis, Middleburg, Terry Lewis, and his wife Nancy, Winfield; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to his close friends who helped him through the years with his 28 year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
