Harold E. Kase
Harold E. Kase, age 86, 268 Orchard Drive, Catawissa and formerly of the Danville area died at 10:45 a. m. Monday, March 26, 2018 in the emergency room of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was taken after being stricken at his home.
Born in Mahoning Township on May 10, 1931, he was the only child of the late Gordon and Martha (Dietz) Kase. He resided at his Catawissa address for the past three years and previously lived in the Danville area.
Harold was last employed at the former Textron plant and earlier at the former TRW plant, both in Danville. Danville.
He was a member of the Hendrickson United Methodist Church and the Washington "Washies" Fire Co., both of Danville. He also belonged to the National American Legion. His hobbies were hunting and attending auctions.
Harold served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Jane Roup, on June 16, 2011.
Harold is survived by two children: Harold E. Kase, Jr., and his wife Margo, Coal Township and Roxann, wife of Joseph Greiner, with whom he resided in Catawissa; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville, with his pastor, Lisa A. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, where military honors will be performed by the honor guard of American Legion Post 40 of Danville. Viewing from 10 -11 a. m.
