Gloria Ann Burke

Gloria A. (Carvino) Burke, age 68, of Cherry Hill Road, Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter and family by her side at 9:11 a. m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 after a long fight against cancer. She constantly pushed herself forward so that she had more time with her family.

Born in Berwick on September 4, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Eness (Basta) Carvino. She was a 1970 graduate of Berwick High School. She resided in Scott Township for a year and a half and previously resided in Berwick.

Gloria was last employed by ICT of Bloomsburg as a sales consultant.

The most important thing in her life was her family and she made this clear to everyone she knew. She spent much of her life caring for her sister and daughter, and would have it no other way. She loved her family fiercely and was so proud of her daughter and grandsons. She had a heart of gold and was one of the kindest women you would ever have the pleasure of getting to know.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Carvino of Bloomsburg and Daniel Carvino of New Orleans and a sister Lucy Carvino of Berwick.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Julie A., wife of Brad Koch, with whom she resided; two grandsons: Dylan McDeavitt and Christopher McDeavitt,  a step grandson, Liam Koch, all at home; her nephew Frank Carvino of Ohio and her sister in law, Alberta Carvino, Bloomsburg; as well as many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence, pastor of St. Columba Catholic Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a. m.
