George S. Law age 72, of 24 Strawberry Lane, Berwick and formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 2:39 p. m. Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey on December 10, 1948, he was a son of the late James E. Sr., and Catherine (Talmadge) Law. He resided in Bloomsburg and the Mainville area before moving to Berwick.
George was a 1967 graduate of Saugerties High School, Saugerties, N.Y. and received an associate’s degree from Penn College of Technology in Williamsport.
He was employed as a supervisor by PP & L at their Bell Bend Power plant before becoming disabled.
He was a member of the Bloomsburg Fire Dept.; Buckhorn Community Fire Co.; and the Ulster Hose Co., Saugerties, N.Y.
George was a licensed ham radio operator and a member of the Columbia-Montour Amateur Radio Club. He also enjoyed billiards and was a member of the APA and BCA.
Surviving is his wife, the former Margaret E. Daw, with whom he observed their 44th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2020; a son, George P. Law, and his wife Stephanie, Danville; two daughters: Lisa J. Roberts, wife of Phil Kane and Paula, wife of Ryan Potter, all of Bloomsburg; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are five siblings: James E. Law, Jr., Hot Springs, Ark.; Patricia, wife of Rick Ormandy, Saugerties, N.Y.; Christina Osterhoudt, Saugerties, N.Y.; Melissa, wife of Troy Beck, Berwick; Lance Law, Albany, N.Y. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Brent Salsgiver, a United Methodist Minister and family friend officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 p. m.
