George J. Hallowell, age 87, of Stoney Brook Circle, Orangeville, died late Saturday evening, June 29, 2024 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville, where he was a patient.

Born in Philadelphia on February 9, 1937, he was a son of the late Samuel and Catherine (Lafferty) Hallowell. He resided in the Bloomsburg and Danville area for over 30 years.

George was employed as a boiler maker in the Philadelphia area working through, Philadelphia Boiler Maker Union, Local.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved raising animals on his farm when he resided on Katy’s Church Road. He served his country by serving as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War period.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, a daughter, Regina Hallowell, a grandson, Joseph Fareri, and eight siblings.

George is survived by his wife the former Marlene J. Bardo with whom he observed their sixteenth wedding anniversary on May 2, 2024. Also surviving is a daughter Colleen Fareri of Harrisburg; a step-son, Leonard Edward Fritz and his wife Irene of Espy; a step-daughter Heather R. wife of Jeffery Breisch of Berwick; granddaughter, Lisa Pascucci of Harrisburg; grandson, Ray Pascucci of Elizabethtown; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Raymond R. Hallowell and his wife Priscilla A. of Gloucester, New Jersey, and Robert Hallowell and his wife Andrea of Pine Hill, New Jersey; a sister, Dorothy wife of Robert Young of New Jersey, and a number of nieces and nephews.

At George’s request there will not be any funeral services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
