Francis Leo Talmadge, Jr.

Francis Leo Talmadge, Jr., age 87, of Pony Trail Dr., Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday April 20, 2026 at Glen Brook Nursing & Rehabilitation, Berwick.

Born on August 8, 1938, in Mount Hope, NJ, Frank was the son of the late Francis and Katherine (Gaydos) Talmadge. He was a 1957 graduate of Morris Hills High School and lived all but the last three years in Rockaway, NJ.

Frank enjoyed baseball and was an avid skier, having graced the breathtaking slopes out West and in Europe.

Frank was an extremely proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea as a radio teletype operator. After returning, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1961 until his retirement in 1999, and alongside his brother Bill at Dover Sport Center until it closed its doors in 2017. However, our Dad/Superman/Papa said that being a devoted husband and dad were his most important jobs.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (McNally) of Bloomsburg, PA; three daughters: Katherine (Jeffrey) Gueiss of Bloomsburg, PA, Alicia (Christopher) DelSasso of Ringwood, NJ, and Melissa (Christopher) Johnson of Myersville, MD; three siblings: Katherine Nechay, William Talmadge, and Barbara Lepore, all of NJ; six grandchildren: Hannah, Harrison, Parker, Mason, Riley and Piper; and many nieces/nephews.

A Celebration of Life mass for our beloved Papa will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church (31 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ) on Saturday, May 23 at 10:00am followed by a gathering of family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
