Eva I. Nelson

Eva I. Nelson, age 83, of Berwick, passed away on Monday June 1, 2026 at the Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Danville, where she had resided since 2023.

Born on November 14, 1942 in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Myron R. and Isabel (Eshelman) Heckman. She was a 1960 graduate of Berwick High School. Eva resided in Virginia in the 1960’s and 1970’s, before returning to Berwick in 1977.

Eva was last employed as an administrative assistant at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Plains, retiring in 1994. She worked for the federal government for over 30 years. 

Surviving is her daughter, Sharon, wife of Charles Parks, of Commerce, Texas; two granddaughters, Bethany, wife of Randy Whitenight, of Commerce, Texas and Dana Parks, wife of John Perez, of Robbins Air Base, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Emma Rose Parks-Perez; and two sisters, Carol Ann Heckman, of Washingtonville and Barbara E. Manning, of Berwick.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
