Esther H. Joscht

Esther  H. Joscht, age 86, 292 Shickshinny Road, Benton, died at 1:30 p. m. Monday, June 11,2018, at The Gardens At Orangeville in Orangeville where she was a patient since February, 2018.

Born in Yugoslavia on June 18, 1931,she was a daughter of the late Friedrich and Hedwig (Bach) Hedrich. She resided in Benton since 1974 and had previously resided in Little Ferry, New Jersey.  She immigrated to the United States in 1954 after spending her early years in Vienna, Austria.

Esther was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Benton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andreas "Andy" Joscht,  on October 23, 2002 and by her only daughter, Katherine (Joscht)  Leahy on June 11, 2016.

She is survived by four grandchildren: Kayla Leahy, in Wisconsin; Leah Leahy, Lititz; Lillian Leahy, Mahanoy City;  Ian Leahy, Denver Colorado; and a son in law, Thomas Leahy, Mahanoy City.

She was the last of her immediate family and is also survived by a number  of nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ The King Catholic Church, Mendenhall Lane, Benton, on Saturday at 2 p. m. by her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Mowery. Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery. Viewing at the Church from 1-2 p. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, Benton.
