Ernest "Ernie" Shearer, Jr.

Ernest Shearer, Jr., age 77, of Berwick, passed from this earth on November 24, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Berwick on January 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Ernest, Sr. and Jane (Matucci) Shearer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Polly (Kepner) Shearer; his son, Patrick Shearer and his wife Kimberly, of New Berlin; his daughter Jessica Mutchler and her husband Corey, of Danville; his daughter Caitlyn Halaquist and her husband Christopher, of Schenevus, NY; his brother Craig Shearer and his wife Cindy; his brother-in-law, John Farrett; along with 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Farrett.

Ernie wanted only a brief obituary highlighting his family; the only legacy he wished to share. But those who loved him could go on and on about who he was, all he accomplished, and the joy, laughter, and unwavering support he gave so freely. He was larger than life; so much fun, and no words could ever capture how deeply he is loved and admired.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.

There will be no public service.
