Elizabeth A. Slusser Adams, age 80, 203 Franklin Place, Bloomsburg, died at 3:08 a. m. Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for six days. Prior to that she was a patient at Balanced Care At Bloomsburg for two months.
Born in Clearfield on October 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Norman J. and Marguerite (Watson) Simmons. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1990 and previously lived in Mt. Joy.
Elizabeth was a graduate of the former Mifflinville High School in 1948.
She was employed by the M & M - Mars, Inc., Candy Co, Elizabethtown for ten years, retiring in 1988.
Elizabeth was proud of being a good mother and was also proud of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian LaRue Slusser, Sr. on July 12, 1965; by two grandchildren: Seth Slusser and Dakota Slusser; by three sisters: Virginia Ritter, Elva French, and Chloe Evans; and a brother, James Simmons.
Surviving are seven children: Stephen L. Slusser, Hershey; Robert A. Slusser, and his wife Kathleen and Betty Anne, wife of Ian Brandau, both of Bloomsburg; twins: Dean Wade Slusser, and his wife Beth Ann, Lewisburg and Dale Wayne Slusser, and his wife Susan, Asheville, N.C.; Adrian L. Slusser, Jr., and his wife Lisa, Summerville, S.C.; Brenda Lee Trivelpiece, Bloomsburg; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: E. Margeen, wife of Milford Shelhamer, Mifflinville and Eleanor Buzzbee, Ark.; two brothers: Norman J. Simmons, and his wife Ruth, Bloomsburg and Charles Simmons, Milton; a sister-in-law, Bernice Slusser, Bloomsburg and her former husband, George L. Adams, Schlater, Miss.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Marjorie A. Menaul, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Dr. Richard E. Huskey, a physician and friend officiating. Interment in Mifflinville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 p. m.
