Born on March 14, 1924 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Malloy) Shalongo. She was a 1942 graduate of Coal Township High School and was an avid alumnus who attended every class reunion until health problems prevented her attendance.

She worked at several stores in Shamokin in her teens and later worked at Shroyers Dress Factory. She also worked at Champ Hats and Grand Way in Sunbury, but found her niche at Rea & Derrick in Sunbury, where she worked until she was well into her 70's, retiring only to take care of her husband.

Betty was an active member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Sunbury. She continued living life to the fullest, until illness slowly stole it away.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sebasovich, Sr., in 2005, and by a brother and sister that died in infancy.
