Eileen M. (Welsh) Drummond
Eileen M. (Welsh) Drummond, age 72, Bloomsburg, left this earth peacefully and entered heaven on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Danville, after a long battle of chronic illnesses.
Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on August 30, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Dale H. and Helen E. (Beagle) Welsh.
She was a 1967 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and immediately after graduation she trained in Washington, D. C. as a medical technician. She enlisted in the United States Air Force where she proudly served from 1968 to 1975, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving in Korat, Thailand. On her return to the United States she lived in Idaho, Wyoming and California, before returning to the Bloomsburg area in 1979. In 1981 she became a member of the Bloomsburg Volunteer Ambulance Association where she became an EMT and EMT skills instructor.
Eileen found her greatest joy helping people train their dogs for the past 40 years. She was a TDI/CGC evaluator and spent most of her time doing therapy work and read programs with several of her beloved dogs, her most recent being Michka.
Eileen belonged to several organizations including the Catawissa Lions Club, Bloomsburg Chapter 279, Order of Eastern Star, Therapy Dog International, Catawissa VFW Post 8306, and several fire companies. She served as a 4-H leader for the Unsere Hunde Dog Club in Columbia County
She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, as well as a more recent member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catawissa, where she felt very welcomed, making new friends and singing in the choir.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Elena, wife of Justin Caspersen, Berwick; a granddaughter, Marissa Caspersen, Berwick; a brother, Scott A. Welsh, and his wife Glenys, Bloomsburg and a niece, Druann, wife of Richard McGowan, York.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Eileen & I shared lots of trips to dog shows and many other memories. She always said we were friends before birth because our mothers were good friends. There were a lot of memories I shared with the family over the years. God Bless You All.

Thoughts and Prayers for your family in the passing of Eileen.
We first met her when we signed up for our dog Harley to be trained by her nearly 15 years ago. We could tell how much she loved dogs and the special way about her for training them. Also through her special work with Therapy Dogs.
So sorry that Eileen's health declined and she wasn't able to do what she loved!

Dear Elena and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. We have fond memories of her when we took our Pug to one of her classes, she was so patient and we actually shared some laughter with her at his performance. We're wishing you peace and warmth to surround you. Love

My sympathies to Eileen's Family.I can't begin to tell you how broken hearted Eileen's passing has made me. She was one of my dearest friends in school and I spent many weekends at her home. I was with her when she received a kiss from a young man she had a huge crush on. She was never going to wash her face again. We went Trick or treating and we all took turns getting out of my car and knocking on doors on country roads. Eileen didn't want to take a turn but after awhile she changed her mind. She knocked on the door and a man appeared with a gun! She ran back to the car and swore never to do that again! I loved her like a Sister. God now has a most beautiful Angel. Rest in peace my Friend❤️

Sending my deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother. She always had a smile on her face and greeted me warmly. I know you will miss her but her life was happy and well lived.

Eileen was an icon in dog training and connected so well with dogs and people to share her knowledge. Most of my labs were evaluated by her as A TDI EVALUATOR for Therapy Dogs International past 20 yrs. She would travel to Allentown to do evaluations for our Therapy dog club . RIP and say hello to all the dogs at the Rainbow Bridge.

Eileen was a fellow EMT. We worked together for many, many years doing EMS at the Bloomsburg Fair. She was a wonderful and caring person. She will be truly missed. Rest in Peace my dear Friend. We got it from here!
