Edward A. Kelly, age 83, of Johnson Road, Bloomsburg passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, Sept. 24, 2024, after an illness.

Born in Bloomsburg on July 5, 1941, he was a son of the late Robert J., Sr. and Coletta M. (Mayan) Kelly. He was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area and a 1959 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Ed was an electrician by trade working for the former Berwick Forge & Fabricating for a number of years and last at Kawneer Company.

He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.

Ed was a ham radio operator, receiving his Amateur Radio license in 1999 and his call sign was KA3FTG. He was also gun enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most importantly was the time he spent with his family.

He served his country as a member of the U. S Air Force from March,1961 to August,1965.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Kelly, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Kelly.

Ed is survived by his wife, the former Deborah K. Howard, with whom he observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 12, 2024; four children: Timothy Kelly and his wife Christine of Virginia, Tabatha Kelly of Bloomsburg, Dawn Conrad of Selinsgrove, Patricia, wife of Rick Newman of Las Vegas, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Coletta Johnson of Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 12 noon in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg by his pastor, Rev. Richard J. Mowery. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park at Lime Ridge. Military honors will be accorded by the combined VFW and American Legion honor guard. Viewing at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a. m.
