Douglas C. Jowett

Douglas C. Jowett, age 82, of McKinley Street, Hazleton, died peacefully at his home on Friday evening, December 15, 2023 after an illness.

Born in Montreal, Canada on June 10, 1941, he was a son of the late Geoffrey E. S. and Ellen I. (Preston) Jowett. He was a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Douglas was employed by several businesses during his working life and will be remembered as serving as Vice President of Allen Stevens, Corp. in the Valmont Industrial Park.

He was an avid golfer playing on many courses around the country, but his favorite course was Sugarloaf Golf Club.

Douglas is survived by five children: Natalie, Doug, Jennifer, Adam, and Leslie; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Carol Carver; four brothers: Michael Jowett, Peter Jowett, Steve Jowett, Jeff Jowett and several nieces and nephews.

Locally he is survived by his life partner, Valerie Barna, with whom he resided, and her family.

There will not be any funeral services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
