Dorothy D. Hupkowicz

Dorothy D. Hupkowicz, age 98, formerly of W. Third St., Bloomsburg, died at 5:10 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Garden Gate Health Care Facility, Cheektowaga, NY, where she had been a resident since March 2018.

Born in Fishingcreek twp. on January 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Collins Lyle and Marjorie Mae (Hartzell) Doty.

In 1962, Dorothy retired as a sales clerk in Buffalo, NY, where she lived until 1986. She then moved back to the Bloomsburg area, and resided there until 2008 when she moved to Hamburg, NY.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Hupkowicz, on August 1, 2001; a brother, Collins J. Doty, Jr.; and three sisters: Lois M. Stackhouse, Evelyn Lunger, and Audrey Doty.

She is survived by three children: Marjorie M. Hupkowicz, West Seneca, NY; Stanley J. Hupkowicz, and his wife Joanne, Tonawanda, NY; Anne V. Hupkowicz, Hamburg, NY; two grandsons: Robert Hupkowicz, and his wife Paula and Jay Hupkowicz, and his wife Patty; and a step-granddaughter, Amy DiMaggio; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 5, at 11:00 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Eric J. Miller, pastor of the Bloomsburg Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
