Doris L. Creveling

Doris L. (Thomas) Creveling, age 79, of Bloomsburg, passed away Monday March 13, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Orangeville on May 31, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Harold D. and Margaret J. (Hartman) Thomas. She resided in Orangeville and Bloomsburg most of her life. She was a 1961 graduate of Central Columbia High School.

Doris owned and operated the former Hi-Ho Restaurant for a number of years and also operated a fair stand. Prior to that she was employed as the executive secretary to the owner of Wilkes Pools and earlier in her life at the former Craftsman.

She was a member of the Orangeville United Church of Christ, the Women’s Civic Club of Bloomsburg, and the Red Hat Society of Columbia County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: James W. Creveling on September 2, 1992, and Carl C. Levan on March 11, 2003; four sisters: Dorothy Creveling, Deanna R. Stauffer, Mary Kocher, and Shirley M. Bower; and five brothers: Paul Thomas, Donald K. Thomas, Hervey R. Thomas, David H. Thomas, and John R. Thomas.

Doris is survived by three sons: William T. Creveling, and his wife Sandra, of Bloomsburg, Michael A. Creveling, and his wife Wendy, of Akron, OH, and James W. Creveling, and his wife Kristina, of Troy, MI; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Asher; three siblings: Helen Ann, wife of Dale M. Davis, of Orangeville, Dale E. Thomas, and his wife Bernice, of Bloomsburg, and Roselyn Smith, of Jersey Shore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St, Bloomsburg. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville.
